MLS: A multiple listing service, cooperative ventures among local real estate brokers, can be found in developed locations. The property listings of participating brokers are pooled together much like that of a collection of property advertisements.
Magazines and Newspapers: Newspapers have a real estate section containing ads of real estate professionals and property listings. They can be found in print or online.
Internet: Developers and brokers usually maintain their own websites containing property listings. To search, type in the name of the location followed by the words “real estate”, e.g. Type “Playa del Carmen real estate”. The International Consortium of Real Estate Associations (ICREA) offers information on properties for rent and sale in twenty-five countries on their website: Worldproperties.com. Additionally, they maintain the Transnational Referral System and Certification (TRC) which is a medium for realtors to make and receive referrals and also assures compensation.
Make Personal Connections and Trips: This is the best tactic. Although there is no official licensing of realtors, Mexico has a real estate association know as the Asociación Mexicana de Profesionales Inmobiliari (AMPI).
